We’re warming up Downtown Bay City with the addition of three new fire features this winter!

7-foot tall fireplaces are popping up throughout the area thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Bay Area Community Foundation’s Healthy living Fund. The fund was created in 2018 after receiving $1 million from the Dow Corning Foundation alongside Midland Area Community Foundation & Saginaw Community Foundation for healthy communities.

The fireplaces operate using gas which is piped in from underground, through a dedicated gas line. Each fireplace has safety screens and to prevent the public disposing of improper materials in them. The fireplaces run on a timer and are equipped with an automatic shutoff and are operational 24/7.  They can be found at Center Avenue & Water Street near Tavern 101, Center & Washington Avenue near MI Table and Third & Water Street (Coming Soon).
