Construction Project Manager >>

General Overview:

Seeking an experienced construction project manager who will lead and oversee a variety of types of construction projects. This person will work directly with customers, engineers and architects to develop a plan, create a project time frame and ensure a project is completed on budget and on time. They should be knowledgeable about regulations, permits, project management methodology and should work well with others, be highly organized and detail-oriented, must be able to meet deadlines and strive to stay within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Create construction estimates based on blueprints and/or material takeoffs.
  • Create and manage a construction project budget.
  • Create a construction project management plan.
  • Negotiate with Owners and subcontractors to obtain profitable construction contracts.
  • Develop an in-depth, critical path method construction schedule that includes project deliverables and milestones.
  • Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers and equipment for projects.
  • Create status reports for project stakeholders and facilitate meetings.
  • Understand construction drawings and contract documents, along with scopes of work.
  • Time management and organization, as well as RFI and submittal management.
  • Obtaining permits as required.
  • Ability to manage and mitigate risks and general construction safety awareness.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Project management skills such as: time management, organization, project budgeting, resource management and project scheduling in Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Strong team management and leadership skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or field experience equivalent in architecture, civil engineering, construction management or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management best practices.
  • Fluency in software programs related to construction management including Sage 300 CRE Construction, Procore Project Management, Microsoft Project and Bluebeam.
  • Current with rules and regulations related to construction.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of order of construction from footings to finishes.

Work Experience

  • 5 years of project management experience in the construction industry or trades such as plumbing, carpentry or masonry.
  • Experience managing budgets and schedules.
  • Prior experience managing a construction site.
  • Experience leading a construction crew.
  • Proven risk management experience in construction projects.
  • Field experience is preferred.
