Foster Families Navigation Resource Center is a local non-profit which offers support to local foster families through community groups, education, information, clothing, and more. They connect foster families, kids and parents to much-needed resources available in their area. They are located at 1501 W. Thomas St in Bay City and took on the former Wade Trim building. Their facility is the heart of their organization, where foster families can find support and a safe space to navigate foster care.
Foster Families NRC partnered with the Leadership Bay County Class of 2023, the Nickless Foundation, Smith Foundation, Kantzler Foundation, DoTerra and the proceeds from the 2021 Foster Families Golf Outing to fund the transformation of their facility into a safe haven including a training center and kitchenette for local children and families navigating the foster care system. The project included renovating their basement space into an educational training room in the lower level of their facility. The space allows foster families to join events put on by the NRC for training, meals, family reunification visits, child removal and placement periods, and volunteers assisting with the NRC.
Additional work included the renovation of other basement areas into: Clothing storage space, updated bathrooms, family meeting room, observation room,

“I was so very pleased with the level of care that Serenus took with my existing building, knowing it was the base for our future projects. They always treated me as an equal when communicating and the understanding of the projects’ vision was what will make them my first call every time we need something done. They listened to all our needs, what the vision was, and the expected use and outcome afterwards. The service was exceptional and I can’t recommend them enough! – Sarah Humerickhouse, Foster Families Navigation Resource Center
