What our clients say

Mersen hired Serenus Johnson Construction to build a large addition to our Bay City manufacturing facility in 2014. This was a multi-million dollar project and took a little over a year to complete. Our team experienced excellent customer service from Bill and Keith Woolwine during the entire project. We are confident that we received superior value for the money spent. Although there were several mid-project design changes and unexpected issues, we continually experienced flexibility in dealing with our needs. There appeared to be good coordination between Serenus Johnson personnel and the sub-contractors that they selected. Our experience working with Serenus Johnson was positive from start to finish. Whether an issue arose at a meeting, on the phone, or in an email, it was promptly and professionally answered. Mersen is extremely pleased with the quality of our addition and highly recommend Serenus Johnson Construction to others looking for premium construction accomplished by a team with integrity.

I am writing this letter to let you know that Region VII Area Agency on Aging had selected Serenus Johnson Construction via a bid process to do two major bid and design projects over the past ten years for our office located in Bay City, Michigan, which had doubled our original office space. We found that their design team and sub-contractors were easy to work with and they were very thorough and detailed throughout the construction process and were able to stay within the budgeted amount. Communication was of an utmost concern to us and they were very quick on returning our calls. Pre-construction meetings were held regularly allowing us to ask questions and make any necessary plan corrections as they arose, and not once did we hear “we can’t do that”.  Projected timelines were kept on target and we greatly appreciated the fact that we had little to no disruption in our daily business operations while both construction projects were underway. Serenus Johnson Construction was able to take our dreams and turn them into realities and we especially appreciate the integrity and punctuality that Tom Johnson and Bill Woolwine demonstrated throughout the projects in dealing with our questions and concerns.

I wanted to express my appreciation to you and all of the Serenus Johnson and sub-contractor employees for the successful completion of the addition to the 948 building. As you are aware, the building that you erected was only the second of its kind here in Dow Chemical – Michigan Operations. The design and construction needed to achieve the blast rating required for the building presented some significant challenges. The engineering firms that you partnered with and the skilled craftsmen on the site were able to manage those challenges well and provide us with a finished product that clearly met all of our expectations. Safety – Serenus Johnson and your sub-contractors worked over 25,000 man-hours with only one very minor ergonomic type injury. The Site Safety Rep for the project created an environment where people felt responsible for not only their own safety but for the safety of everyone on the project site. Site Project Management – Peek manpower was roughly 60 craftsmen. Jim Sharrow did a great job managing the work being performed by Serenus Johnson and each of your sub-contractors. His dedication to the project was very much appreciated. Jim was asked to work some long days and weekends to achieve the completion date we needed. Jim’s infectious positive attitude spread throughout the crew. This was the second large capital project that your company has done with me and you’ve set the bar high for future projects. I look forward to working with Serenus Johnson on future projects.

I just wanted to send you a note regarding the recent expansion project that your company completed for Mersen Bay City. From the initial meeting we had with your company and our architectural team to the final completion of this expansion project, I can say that we are very pleased with the results. As you are aware, this project was under intense pressure to be completed in less than a year due to business demands. According to our architectural team, projects of our scope and magnitude typically take a year and a half to complete. Your team was able to meet our timeline as well as give us options to reduce the overall project cost without sacrificing the design criteria. Bill Woolwine was very accessible and involved in all phases of this project. Bill was at our disposal throughout the project, as well as keeping us up to date with regular meetings. I would not hesitate to recommend Serenus Johnson Construction.

I wanted to take a moment to extend a very sincere “Thank You” for successful completion of our front projects here at the Medical Care. We all were so pleased with the overall process of accomplishing a difficult project. Your employees were professional and extremely efficient. While residents and families were disrupted to some extent, I never heard a serious complain and I’ve heard MANY compliments about the end result. It was a pleasure to have you work here with us and I look forward to future projects with a company that has such great customer awareness.

Thank you so much for the time, material, and labor Serenus Johnson put into the work on the installation of the rack cabinet. Having the rack installed will be a tremendous help in the expansion of our sound system. Please give our thanks to both Mark and Bob as well for their much appreciated contributions. Mark was great to work with. He was very cordial, polite, and worked within the theatre’s schedule. We are very pleased with the quality of his work

We would like to thank Serenus Johnson Construction for their part in the renovation of Operation Room 4 and 5 at Bay Regional Medical Center. As planned, we received authorization Monday afternoon from the State of Michigan to fully utilize the new Operating Room Suite for our patients. Without your effort and dedication to this project, we could not have achieved this most difficult goal of renovating two OR’s within the short time frame of three weeks. As you know, renovation in an operating surgical suite can be the most complicated of all construction projects. Your planning and scheduling, while adhering to all codes and regulations, was exemplary. Rarely has a project gone so smoothly and trouble-free for the Hospital. You and your staff are to be congratulated on this effort. We look forward to working with you on future projects.

The Saginaw-Midland-Bay Michigan Works! Agency spent over a year working with Serenus Johnson Construction and our Lansing based office design specialists – to renovate over 14,000 sq feet at North Pointe Plaza. Tom Johnson  worked closely with our Site Coordinator during design changes (prior to construction) and revisions (after construction began) to minimize delays in the construction process. Tom was always available (by phone or by email) to answer questions or resolve any issues we had. Serenus Johnson workers and supervisors always acted in a timely and professional manner. The resulting Michigan Works! Facility received a “Brick Award” from the Bay City Chamber of Commerce – acknowledging the contribution we made to the community by expanding and renovating the existing facility. Many elected officials have toured the building since it opened, including Senator Carl Levin, who said he was impressed with the North Pointe facility and its staff. The SMB Michigan Works Agency is very happy with the facility constructed by Serenus Johnson Construction.
