Akron Fairgrove Schools
Listen in as Diane Foster, Superintendent of Akron Fairgrove Schools, shares about her experience working with Serenus Johnson Construction.
AKRON FAIRGROVE ELEMENTARY
Serenus Johnson performed as the Construction Manager for the renovations to Akron Fairgrove Elementary School. This renovation included many trades and scopes of work, including HVAC, Electrical, Millwork, Flooring, Lockers, Roofing, Playground upgrades, Gym Flooring and the addition of 2 new classrooms. This was a milestone project for Serenus Johnson, as it was the first project to be fully managed on our new project management software, Procore, which allows for intuitive document sharing and online access to all parties involved on the project.
AKRON FAIRGROVE HIGH SCHOOL
Phase 3 of this project included renovations to the high school related to new sports lighting, upgrading sanitary, additional HVAC unit installation, additional restrooms, security upgrades, chemistry lab upgrade, new roof, asphalt, classroom door hardware and glazing.

Mersen USA GS Corp-Bay City
Listen here as Patrick Greene, Plant Engineer and Maintenance Manager, shares about his experience working with Serenus Johnson Construction on a recent 350,000 square foot addition and renovation at their Bay City location.
Global advanced materials manufacturer, Mersen USA, expanded it’s Bay City manufacturing facility which machines graphite and rigid carbon insulation, used in semiconductors and electric vehicles. Due to the dramatic growth and increasing demand for these products, Mersen increased its production capacity and product offerings.
Foster Families Navigation Resource Center
Join Serenus Johnson in this Project Spotlight featuring Foster Families Navigation Resource Center Founder & Executive Director Sarah Humerickhouse, as they talk about the transformation of their facility into a safe haven including a training center and kitchenette for local children and families navigating the foster care system. The project included renovating their basement space into an educational training room in the lower level of their facility. The space allows foster families to join events put on by the NRC for training, meals, family reunification visits, child removal and placement periods, and volunteers assisting with the NRC.
Forward Corporation – Lumberjack Lodge
Join us as we discuss our recent commercial Design/Build renovation with Forward Corporation. We were chosen to bring new life to the Lumber Jack Lodge in West Branch, a historic hotel with deep roots in the community. This renovation encompassed 42,000 square feet, including the complete overhaul of 80 guest rooms, public restrooms, the pool atrium, lobby, and a modern update to the exterior facade. One of the standout aspects of this project was the tight construction schedule. With the hotel’s continued operations, we had to ensure that portions of the guest rooms remained available throughout the renovation to accommodate holiday and special event bookings. We embraced the challenge by employing a Design/Build approach—developing the design concurrently with the construction, without relying on formal pre-established drawings or bids. This approach allowed for flexibility and adaptability, ensuring the project’s success despite the ever-evolving nature of the work.

LaBerge Dental Lab
Rob contacted us to renovate their dental lab’s existing space and turn it into a more-functional workspace for their small team.
Electrical, plumbing, painting, concrete polishing, and custom millwork (with their signature lime green brand) were all included in this project. Our team was able to transform a space, that once had an inefficient layout that worked against their business needs, to a beautiful, logical floorplan to accommodate their dental lab renovation, team and workstations.

Richland Township Hall

Located in Hemlock, Michigan, the Richland Township Hall has recently undergone a transformative interior renovation, breathing new life into the 7,300-square-foot facility. Completed between March and May 2025, this $183,600 project stands as a testament to effective collaboration, meticulous planning, and adaptability in the face of unique challenges.
McLaren Bay Region- Emergency Department Renovation / Foundation
